Another titbit on antenna texts following from Jacob Z Schanker's
posting.

My experience with Russian texts are also that they provide very
useful insights and different approaches to antenna problems.
One English translation I have (and enjoy) is:

DM Sazonov, "Microwave Circuits and Antennas" Mir Publishers, Moscow,
1990 (English translation) 1988 (Russian edition).

Chaps 1-6 are on microwave ccts and below is a quick rundown on
antenna chapter headings

Ch7 The EM field and Antenna Parameters
Ch8 The Receiving Antenna
Ch9 Dipole and Slot Antennas
Ch10 Low-Directional and Frequency-Independent Antennas
Ch11 Linear Antennas and Arrays
Ch12 Radiating Apertures and Arrays
Ch13 Synthesis of Linear Antenna Systems
Ch14 Aperture type antennas
Ch15 Arrays

approx 500 pages total
