Dear NEC-Programmers:

Recently, MATLAB released a C-code generating compiler. As a long
time FORTRAN programmer in the field of planar microwave structure
analysis, I think about implementing FORTRAN 90 or re-writing the
code for MATLAB, which is enthusiastically used by some colleagues
and obviously simple to learn and to applicate.
To avoid useless efforts, I would like to know your experience with
MATLAB, FORTRAN 90 and/or the C-code generating compilers of both
languages. Does it make sense to transfer FORTRAN-code to MATLAB,
esp. if the programm is extended permanently? Can the generated
C-code be run on a UNIX vector machine? What about the computation
time for large matrix operations? Is there any disadvantage in
including existing FORTRAN libraries in MATLAB?

Thank you very much for your answers!

Achim
The programm is
