Hi there folks.

I have a couple of finalyear students who are trying to rig up a small
rooftop open air range for VHF/UHF antenns. The range is intended for use in
teaching and final year projects.

We are able to string a second range, using the same positioner, across an
open area to another building giving us an elevated range. The one student
has as his project the design of an infrared link from the PC driving the
positioner, to another PC which is intended to control an HP signal generator
covering up to about 3 GHz for use as a frequency source. Frequency and
other setup info is supposed to pass over the IR link using a simple data
modem.

Has anyone out there had any experience with a PC driven HP-IB bus
simulator?? Any assistance would be most welcome. We can buy a card for a
PC, but do not have any funds available for this so regretfuly cannot use
this option.

Please reply to me either on NEC-List, or directly.

Have a great day all of you.

Duncan Baker.
