The standard formulas for dipole length and loop perimeter are reasonably
accurate for normal element diameters, but should not be used outside a
narrow range. There is data on values for other diameters and some other
loop shapes in my book, 'the quad antenna', published by CQ Communications.
The latest data is in the series of articles on 'the quad antenna
revisited', in Communications Quarterly and in QEX. Use one of the NEC
programs or the Ohio State program for best accuracy.
