A question about polarizati

I am looking for the *proper* definitions of the radiation pattern parameters
in the output of NEC (see bellow). What I know is:

  1] (THETA,PHI) are the *standard* spherical coordinates.
  2] E(THETA)/E(PHI) are the complex electric field at the point
      (R,THETA,PHI) in the transverse direction theta/phi.

What I am looking for is an *explicit* definition of the remaining six (6)
parameters in terms of THETA, PHI, E(THETA), and E(PHI). A reference to a
book or NEC documentation will be also appreciated.

Mainly, I am confused by the expressions POWER_GAINS(VERT.) & E(THETA), and
POWER_GAINS(HOR.) & E(PHI), isn't vertical<==>theta and horizontal<==>phi, and
how we compute POWER_GAINS(TOTAL) for a non linearly polarized antenna?

Another question: What is the most common plot for radiation pattern, i.e. for
non linearly polarized antenna do we plot E(THETA)&E(PHI),
POWER_GAINS(VERT.)&POWER_GAINS(HOR.), total E(?), or POWER_GAINS(TOTAL) in dB.

Thanks

For reference here is NEC output for radiation patterns
