Some programs (such as ELNEC/EZNEC) appear to apply segment length
tapering externally to the actual calculations, thus producing a
substitute model for which NEC or MININEC can do the calculations.
The instruction manuals provide details on procedures. One program,
AO, I believe, has an automated segment feature for MININEC, the
results of which show up in the "run" file, but not in the input
model. There are many ways to handle segment length tapering for
versions of NEC and MININEC without the GC card.
