The ARRL log coordinate system is, in my opinion, confusing and hide
the real pattern of an antenna. It was designed to emphasize the main
gain lobe but it compresses all minor lobes such as the rear ones. I
much prefer a plot where the log (dB) circles are evenly spaced.
These plots are discussed in Brian Beezley's documentation that comes
with his antenna analysis programs and his programs can be set to
display in either format.
