Simon, I did some small tests with and without a pre-generated
SomNec ground-file, but was not able to produce similar error-
message.

I do not know what OS you are running and what nec2 executable
you are using.

When using the Sommerfeld ground with the original nec2 engine
this requires a pre-generated ground file, created with the
SomNec2d.exe program (at least on DOS/Windows).
However when no Som2d.nec file is available I get a distinct
error from the one you mentioned, so I don't believe this missing
of a SomNec ground input-file (Tape21) is causing theproblem....
