I don't get it, are you referring to a Basis Function to get a close
approximate solution of the voltage behavior as describe by the
"problem" or "model" with the application of the method of moments?
For a start, some codes uses a sinusoid, others uses a triangular
shape as an assumption to get an (starting point) initial estimate of
the solution. Segment size should be smaller than LAMBDA/10 of the
highest frequency of interest, in order to get a reasonably accurate
model.
