NEC-LIST: NEC- wire conductivity vs discrete loads

A simple example follows. It is a 1 meter wire of 101 segments. In one case
it is loaded with 101 discrete complex loads of 10 +j0. This would seem to
be approximate 1K ohm in the total 1 meter long wire or a wire of
conductivity .001 mho/meter. The other case shown would seem to be
approximately the same physical antenna, but the pattern results are
radically different. What am I missing here???
